Buzz in Radio

I have a buzz in my sound that seems to correspond to the RPM's. I have an aftermarket headunit running two amps, new front door speakers, and 2 12's in the back. I've checked the grounds and everything looks fine, but the sounds still there. Any suggestions??

One possibility mentioned above. Definitely an interference issue, do you have any inputs going into the head unit? Also flip through the different modes on your h/u. Does it occur only on FM, AM, CD, Aux, or on all?

it seems to be present on all channels. I had this same unit in my old 4runner and did not have this problem. Just cant seem to figure out whats causing it.

You will have to try and isolate the problem more by adjusting the balance and fader. If it still comes up the same from all speakers then the interference is probably occurring at the h/u. I had this same issue come up only on my aux mode. Also when you are checking, rev the engine to make the interference more noticable.

yeah, im gonna check my grounds one last time and make sure its not something just really easy to fix. Then i guess ill check and make sure everythings away from speaker wire even though im 99.9% sure it is. Then if neccessary ill screw with the sound, but the problem is im constantly messing with my EQ depending on what kind of music im listening to.

Messing with the sound will just cover it up though. See if you can find the cause to eliminate altogether otherwise you ears will always be drawn to the interference

alright, its not coming thru subs at all, it doesnt seem to be coming thru tweeters either, but i think they might be blown, so that would explain why its not coming thru them. It is however coming thru all 4 door speakers, fronts are audiobahn and rear are original. getting static with every type of output ... cd/dvd/sirius/fm/ipod ... therefore it seems to me that i either have missed a ground somewhere or i have power touching speaker, am i correct?

That's the hard part. Not necessarily, my issue was just the aux mode and it occurred at the h/u, unrelated to wire routing. I scrapped that mode because even adjusting input sensitivity couldn't fix it. Hopefully it isn't the whole h/u that is sensitive to interference

engine noise - turn down the gains on your amps or install this:

noise suppressor

is the noise supressor worth buying or will it completely kill the sound if i just turn gain down. Due to being right in the middle of painting interior black money is not exactly plentiful right now.

search for ground loop isolator ...sounds like the right symptoms
