Been a member here for quite some time, have owned multiple 4Runners and Tacoma's! I have settled on this one as I got it for a good price!
So, I finally decided to start my own build thread... I will cover my 4Runner and my Expedition Trailer in this thread.
My 4Runner right now is very mild except for my turbo set up, and my trailer is still in the beginning stages of its transformation, but has come a long way!
4RUNNER BUILD:
I picked it up last spring, 97 SR5 manual, 4x4, 169k, completely stock. It has been neglected a bit, and had some grinding into 1st and 2nd, so I did some powertrain maintenance with some of that Redline magic! I changed every fluid in the truck minus coolant (it had been done recently).
Mods:
Custom Rear Mount Turbo (pretty much the same as Clownmeats)
2" body lift (to accommodate for the turbo charge pipe).
Scanguage II
Boost Gauge
Oil Pressure Gauge
Plastidipped stock wheels
Bunch of misc. maintenance things.

TRAILER BUILD:
Here are the goals for my trailer:
1. Budget Build!
2. Simple as possible
3. Rugged, durable, easy to work on
4. Functional
So far I am less than $250 into my build. I have been very fortunate and lucky at time to pick up many of my items for free and/or very cheap!
Trailer: I got it for free from my dad. It was in pretty rough shape, but a great starting point!
I got an extra piece of T1-11 plywood from my family cabin that I am going to use as the bottom board for the trailer

Replaced the main center beam... it was completely rotted out! I also traded a small air compressor for a new axle, and was able to salvage the same leaf springs from the old axle.
I completely lucked out and picked up a set of limited tundra/sequoia wheels for FREE! I will be running these wheels on my trailer and my 3rd gen 4Runner.
Started building my vertical supports and corners. (Dont mind the mannequin in the background... its for my business!
Test fitting bottom plywood, cooler, and 2x6's
Exterior 2x6's initial fitment and measurements
Tailgate, Kitchenette framing, and 2x6's bolted
I hated the look of the round tubing as my "vertical posts" on the sides of the trailer, so I cut them off went with some flat bar instead!
As of yesterday (2/2/16), I have tied everything together on the main frame, finished the tailgate latches, capped the top, and bought my 23/32 sheet of plywood for my lid (not pictured).
Sitting next to my 4Runner... makes my runner look tiny! Guess its time to install that 3" lift that's been sitting in my garage for 3 months, and pick up some 33's!
I still have a shit ton to do, but it should be "functional" as a box very soon! I need to build my multi link hitch system, build some fenders, install my lights, and mount my lid to make it usable.
I have really big plans for this trailer that will "eventually" include:
3-4 man RTT on pop up frame (like BoxRocket's) to allow access to lid
Full kitchenette with running water, and Ecotemp L5 heater
Electrical system including 12V/110 power, large inverter, LED lighting, Solar Power charging capabilites
On board air compressor
Rear tire swing out carrier
Fender "extensions" all around to hold propane, jerry cans, water cans etc,
Lot's more that I know I'm forgetting right now.
