Bypassing stock amp

Hey y'all. I did a search but found nothing definitive. Can anyone confirm for me the best way to bypass the stock amp when installing a Pioneer/Premier HU?

I've done many installations in my years, mostly in Hondas, but I want this one to be as plug-n-play as possible. The Premier HU I bought (currently in shipping) should have it's own harness, but I'll need a Metra kit or something, right?

1999 Limited with the upgraded stereo...which actually doesn't sound too bad.

Thanks for the help. Photos are always helpful too!

When I installed my Alpine on my '98 all I did was use the wiring harness that was provided in my order to connect the existing wires to the head unit. Some how while connecting all the wires the factory amp was disconnected (I think). I don't think you have to do anything special.
