Trading in a 97 4runner V6 4x4 on an 09 Venza awd, gets you $4500.
The key thing is that you think your 10 year old 4runner is still worth $9000.

Today I went to the Toyota Dealer where I purchased my 4runner to check on something....I went around the lot to check out the new stuff...and that lot is empty...almost no new toyota vehicles. The only new ones 09's that I saw was like 10 Tacomas, 4 Scion TC , 2 Scion XB and 1 scion XD and 1 Highlander . Didn't see any new or used Corollas nor Yaris nor Camry...just 2 Hybrid Camrys (use) and 2 Avalon (used)

Saw 2 06' 4runners one SR5 4wd and one SE... no new 4runners. My sales guy told me the they dont have anything but whats on the lot...they got rid of everything with the Cash 4 Clunkers

The lot is almost empty ..... majority of the vehicles are used and they where on the back of the lot.

I asked him about the new 4runner and he just said they are working on it.

I will be trading in my wife's 4runner undre the CARS program. If anyone want to buy it let me know. Located in Cincinnati. It's really kind of sad. It still runs great. Really this will probably be done in the next 10 days or so.

Bad idea, you can probably get a lot more than $4500 out of it but it's up to you...

Not a bad idea....I had one halfway interested party in 3 weeks at $4800. I ended up trading it for $4500. we'll see what the dealer asks for it.

I don't believe those newer 4Runners/Tacomas are going to be destroyed. Based on what I’ve heard, the Auto industry had really tight standards on what's considered a "clunker". I think some of those vehicles were probably trade-ins that will be resold and the guy in the video was just exaggerating to get his point across.
