I guess I will start one since all the cool kids are doing it.

First off thanks for the awesome site. I don't post much I just keep my mouth shut and learn.
I have always had modified cars and trucks, starting with the German cars when I got my license. Here are the last 2 I built.

I got sick of that scene and bought a Land rover. It was nice driving over curbs, not slowing to a crawl to go through dips in the road. That ended up being a giant pos so I started buying Toyotas. My brother had a Tacoma and my parents had 4runners. I went through a FJ40 a few Tacoma's and a 4th gen 4runner.

Nov 2013 My parents decided to trade in the 1996 I wanted to get out of my ridiculous Truck payment so They gave me the 4runner and they traded in my 2012 Tacoma. They saved a ton on taxes and I got an original owner 3rd gen with 160,000 miles and a locker. It worked out well for both of us.

I wasn't planning on doing much to it but we all know how that goes. The first nasty snow storm I bought some 265-75-16 Duratracs, I was going to leave it like that until the tires wore out then go bigger but I got a nice refund from the gap insurance on my Taco so I stopped by Toytec and bought superflex coils front and rear with some Bilsteins.

I installed them on Christmas eve 2013. I always hated the factory split spokes so I was looking for a cheap alternative and decided to search for some Tundra steel wheels. I liked the tough nato look and the would clear the soon to be installed TBU.

I then had what I thought was a fatal transmission slipping problem so I put a good used transmission in, problem was still there after I was done. Turned out to be a failed spark plug :bash: Oh well the transmission was cheap. I then replaced plugs and wires.

The headlights suck! I bought some IPF's and did a quick satoshi so they would tuck in more.

That pretty much brings us up to date as far as mods go.
I have big plans coming soon. I have to do something about the stereo, 285's and another set of wheels, bumpers, sliders. It never ends.

hahaha funny you mention that because one of my friends (who is an avid volunteer and rubicon supporter) was telling me about the "trail rating" on those jeeps. And yes, they have to go through rubicon to get that "rating".... except they break so much crap on those jeeps going through there - but because it eventually got through the trail, jeep puts the "trail rated" stamp on it. They fly a ton of international buyers and buyers from all over the US there and let them wheel the Rubicon in one. It's actually pretty cool though.

That's funny, should be "mall rated". They are pretty cool for a factory vehicle but I would never own one. I went just as far as he did that day and he had 35's

Water pump has been leaking and making noise. I couldn't make it to the shop to get it replaced today so I did it myself. Long day standing on my toes. I also noticed I better replace my lbj's when I replace the cv's.

Nice truck, love the tundra wheels. My 99 had the same trans problem...

Thank you, yeah that was the wrong way to replace the transmission fluid. Thankfully I got a great deal on the transmission and now have a spare if the pink milkshake comes.

Got some more junk for the 4runner today, hopefully get to install it tomorrow.

It's taking longer than I anticipated, The amp I wanted was no longer available then they sent the wrong one. After 7 different hardware stores I found some matching paint.:trophy:

Just bought a new 4Runner. Anyone have any advice on if the weather tech floor and cargo mats are worth the money? I hunt and fish a lot and think they'd really save my carpet, but wondering if they're worth the premium on others? They look good online but at $300 for the set I'd appreciate feedback from anyone that has them (or other brands you'd recommend). Thanks.

I don't know mister, I'd get wooly mammoth mats, they absorb the fish smell the best.

Well this happened.

I wouldn't recommend using a harbor freight paint gun. It turned out like bedliner, in braille it says "this paint job sucks! you're fired". I'm glad I did it though I always wanted to try it.

Still waiting on the insert to get shipped. Duplicolor for that. I have a lot of wet sanding to do.....

Thanks to Vin SCSPerformance for the wheels! The pictures don't do the color justice.

Hit Rainbow falls with Lulu and FJ Rob, it was a good time. I'm getting sick of sketchy off camber trails though.

I've got to say the lightweight wheels and the move back to Duratracs make it drive like it's stock again. It accelerates good and rides smooth.
