Success ! With my brothers help I lowered the skid down on the brackets and with him pushing on the passenger side I re-tightened the bolts and we got clearance all the way around. I also moved the rear passenger bracket to outside the skid but am not sure it was necessary. Thanks again to [MENTION=129105]Hamburgerpimp[/MENTION] and [MENTION=134723]kSteven813[/MENTION] for the advice. [MENTION=131444]C4 Fabrication[/MENTION] thanks for the awesome skid. I'm sure it will withstand any abuse I put it through. I think your redesign will be better for folks who won't want to trouble shoot the issue.

Now I can attempt a narrow, rocky mountain trail I've been dying to get into all summer.

Looking for gas skid and reading this thread - there seemed to be a surprising number of "fit" challenges. Anyone acquire a C4 fuel tank skid in the last year or so? Have the good folks at C4 ironed out the issues?

There isn't a "huge" gap, its about 1/2" max and it needs to be there to allow room for mud and small rocks to be washed out of the skid. Otherwise debris gets trapped between the tank and skid and rubs against the tank. Also fuel tank skids are not indestructible. If you land on them hard enough they will bend. In the event that does happen you do not want the skid to touch the tank right away if it bends slightly.

We have sold plenty of those skids this year with zero reports of fitment issues. We did make a few design adjustments to make more clearance around the edges where a few people were experiencing rubbing issues.
