I was going to take them to get powder coated tomorrow but while I was at work today my mom bleached my house to get ready for painting, and got bleach on them. There is now rust spots all over them [emoji43]. Is it okay to still get powder coated, or should I try and remove the rust or something else? I have he best luck [emoji21]

When's your moms cleaning my house?
If your powder coater can't handle a lil rust, I would find a new PC to go to

Powdercoaters do the proper prep if they are any good. Mine are getting a powder primer and then the top coat. There will be no rust for a very long time.

You will need to make sure the rust gets removed before coating them. Having them sand blasted first is the best way to do it. I wouldn't depend on the powder coating company to do it for you without asking them to take care of it first.

Got my sliders back from the paint. They didn't do the glow in the dark stuff because after mocking them up said they didn't look good so just did black with non slip material. Still look really good and will be installing them tomorrow or sunday depending if I buy tires tomorrow or not.

Picked up my 4Runner days after this closed, now experiencing major FOMO. Really want these beautiful sliders, debating whether to wait a year, buy now, or jump on the Shrockworks GB (definitely not as sexy).

I found a buddy of mine in town that is going to work with me to do some custom ones for $400-$600 installed. So freaking stoked for that!

They are DOM. All GB sliders are being built with DOM. The order form just says standard tubing because that's what you selected on the order form so you would not have to pay the extra charge for DOM.

That is correct. The seam is very easily visible on the standard tubing.

We are going by the order of the list since everyone paid so quickly. If you have not gotten a notification its most likely because your sliders are KDSS or 4th gen. We are waiting on another run of those frame mounting plates to get those sliders assembled. We should be building some of those this week.

Those two holes are optional to drill. We provide the two 3/8" thread cutting screws in the bolt pack for those holes. You can drill a 5/16" hole in each location after the slider is installed and thread the bolts into the holes.
Those are really only required if you plan to really abuse the sliders heavily in rocks and other large obstacles.



Trust us, they are plenty strong enough! We use almost twice as many bolt locations as all the other fab companies out there offering sliders for the 5th gen.

its hard to say how quickly they will come together once we get the laser cut parts, but it will be another 6 weeks or so I would think since you are pretty much last on the list.

They wont fall off, don't worry about that! haha

There's a reason they supply the gold ones they are zinc coated if I recall. They offer superior rust protection. Just paint the stock heads if it is that big of a deal. Not like you can see them.

Umm you can clearly see them lol I'm in for the black screw info too. Was already wondering why I don't see them on the all black sliders usually.

My powdercoater said he does screw heads all the time, unless you torque the crap out of the fastener, they wont chip.

The screw size is 10-24. We have searched for black screws in the past that would work well and hold up to the weather and had no luck. Let us know what you find.

Yes you can get them coated, but make sure its a light coating. If the powder coater gets the coverage too thick it will be hard to get a torx bit into the screw head.
