C4 Fabrication Rock Sliders Group Buy

These sliders are top notch! Heavy duty construction and bolt on install. As prior posters mentioned, the install on the passenger side was straightforward and was done in about 45 minutes. I have KDSS so it took about 1.5x more time to install the driver side. Here are my pics.

[MENTION=131444]C4 Fabrication[/MENTION] One question for you, are the screws on the step plates stainless steel or should I be concerned about rust? I live where road salt is used and am concerned about those screws and whether I need to do anything to prevent rust.

Thanks for the great comments and photos! The screws are not stainless. We do not use stainless because they will gall up and ruin the threads when we take them in and out here at the shop. Also stainless ones are not available with the Torx drive head which is crucial for our installation process. If you would like to replace them with stainless, you can get them through McMaster Carr or Grainger with a Philips head. The screws are 10-24 thread cutting panhead screws.

I just looked for and found several sources for 10-24 stainless screws in both 1/2" and 5/8" lengths. The included screws are 1/2".

Attempted to install RCI Lower Link Skids today. Unfortunately they overlap with where these sliders wrap around the frame.

The holes for the lower link skid are highlighted in pink on the C4 Fab slider in this 'before install' picture.

I plan to cut the slider to expose the holes for attachment of the lower link skid.

Do you think this is a bad idea or can think of any alternative solutions? Do you think it would be best to just return the lower link skids?

I actually ended up finding these instead. They are an Allen head instead of Torx, but they are a button head as opposed to a pan head (lower profile head). I thought they might be a bit nicer since they will be stepped on. It won't hurt. They are not thread cutting, but the threads are already cut from C4 running in the originals, so they should go in just fine.

cutting out that portion of the slider frame plate would be fine to fit the RCI link skids.

That is a good option for stainless replacement screws. As you said, the threads are already cut so the stainless 10-24 screws would go in just fine.

Will you have to take your sliders off to replace the screws on the inside of the plates? I mocked mine up, and it looked too tight to change the screws out after the install, so I decided to hold off until my screws arrive on Monday.

That is correct, both plates have 8 screws, 4 plates, so 32 screws.
Pricing breakdown from Albany County Fasteners:
.10 each, 25ct $1.97, 100ct $7.17

You may want to buy a few extras by getting a couple of 25ct bags? Shipping was around $6.00. If you have other needs, they have a ton of specialty fasteners, you might save a couple of bucks on shipping by perusing the website for a bit.

Im assuming you mean the ones that thread into the frame on the bottom of the frame rail? We send zinc coated grade 8 bolts with the kit. The size is M8x1.25 x 25mm long. You could swap them to stainless if you wish to. Once again i would recommend just a small amount of lube if you are going to thread stainless bolts into the mild steel frame to help prevent any thread galling.
