C4 Lo Pro bumper powder coating discount - Denver Area

[5280 TRail-Runner]

Starting this thread so I can keep tabs on those who are interested in going through the same powder coater for a discount. This will be in the Denver area but anyone is welcome if you are willing to make the drive.

Option 1: If we bring in 4 or more at the same time, in the same powder (color, texture & sheen), he will do them for $150 each sandblasting and powder coating.

Option 2: If the timing is not right or others are not willing to wait for everyone to get their bumpers then we can go this route. For any bumpers brought in within a two week time period of the first one. The bumper would be $170 including sandblasting and powder coating—using in-stock powders.

The company is Colorado Powder Coating and he is located in Commerce City.

We are still a ways out and some may not be completely set on what they want to do yet and that is fine but if you know you want to go with the powder coat then let me know and I'll shoot you a message. I may be waiting for the rest of you to get your bumpers as I was one of the first to pay and if that is the order in which they are delivering them but I am perfectly fine with waiting since I am still saving for the winch and light bar.

I'm sure if you shop around you should be able to find some good deals. 10% seems to be the norma from what I've found. You can wait for black Friday but not sure if they are something that go on sale often.

I'd prefer something that was maybe a little easier to clean. I feel like matte paint might get gunked up with bugs, mud, or other road debris eventually.

We could still get the matte black in a smooth finish. Its just a color and not the texture but I am leaning towards a flat black in a smooth finish. Flat black would be my first choice but I sent an email to the powder coater so I'll post them here once I get them.

Just a quick update. I stopped by the powder coater today to grab a sample book. There was more samples and colors than I was expecting but I think we are all in agreeance that we'll be sticking to black for our bumpers. The shop owner was very pleasant to talk with and he was very straightforward. He took about 20 minutes to walk me around the shop and explained everything to me. I feel confident that he knows what he is doing so I think we'll be in good hands.

Below is a picture of the full sample book.

Here are the blacks. He recommends we either go with T001-BK08 which is what most companies use on their products or T241-BK59 which is slightly textured.

The powder coater recommends that we stick with a product number that has "T" in it because that is going to be the strongest powder coat.

I just got my Hefty sliders and I loved the textured powder coat they used. I'd like for all my different parts to match so I think I may go with the textured look for the front bumper too.

Curious to hear your thoughts since you got to see the samples in person.

I personally like the textured black better than the gloss. I also think the gloss is going to show marks and stains more so than the textured black. Below is a close up of the 2 under some lighting so you can see the difference. The gloss does have a glare when light hits where as the textured doesn't.

My vote would be for T241-BK59.

EDIT: I want to also mention that the feel between the 2 is hardly noticeable when you touch it. The textured black is definitely not as rough as what bedliner would feel like. Its actually rather smooth surprisingly.
