Ca. Smog Test Results.. Gross Polluter

1990 v-6 4runner

Did the following and failed twice.

major tune up.

replaced CAT & muffler ( muf was Holy)

think i'll do the Oxygen sensor next , I found one before the CAT ... but where is the other one?


Also it smells like i'm burning oil..

If I put denatured alcohol will that work?

Well if you are burning oil that may be a more serious and expensive problem like worn rings. But I would make sure it is timed right first. My truck failed the hydrocarbon test with a reading of 300. i went back and replaced cap rotor, wires, plugs and it still failed, but the guy doing the test pointed that my truck was missing a lot and just turned the dist and made it stop missing and it passed with a reading of 30.
