Cabin Air Filter

Hello, I'm a new member. I have a 98 4Runner and I want to change the cabin air filter. The manual doesn't say how and I can't find directions on how to do this for my year. Can anyone give me a link or help me out, please? The thing has 140,000 miles on it and it's never been changed!

I don't know about the 98, but on the 04 you just disconnect the arm on the glovebox so it can drop and the filter compartment is behind the glovebox. Might be the same, dunno.

I took off the glove box door and i didn't see a spot for the filter. The only thing there was the plastic channeling for the air. I did see instructions on cleaning the fan, would that be equivalent to cleaning the air filter? Maybe only the newer models have the removable filters?

There is no filter on a 98. You just clean the blower fan.
