cabin filter

Hello, So here is my question, behind the glove box in my 99 limited there is a black plastic tube(sorry no pics) it's about 10 inches long and odd shaped but basically 4 inches high. I know that I dont have a cabin filter, but is this tube part of my cabin air system? if so could I cut out my own filter and mod the tube to hold in place the filter media, while still allowing removal?

If im not mistaken im pretty sure its the blower motor and i really dont know if u can put a filter in it. see if there is a opening on it or a cover that comes out. im not 100% sure though

Thanks, Tom the tube comes out. I'll check further into this if I find anything out that is helpfull I will post.

ya no problem was there a filter in it. does the thing u pulled out look square at all.

no no filter, kind of off shaped like a stretched square.

haha alright i just looked at mine and i got a 99 SR5 runner and when i pulled the glove box off i saw a black tube that was before the blower motor and was going from the other air ducts to the right side air vent closest to the passenger window. could u have been looking at that by chance

there shouldn't be a filter in there

The 4Runner wasn't equipped with a cabin filter till the 4th Gen
