cable to plug IPOD to OEM Radio

Hello,

considering all the solutions to plug the IPOD to the OEM Radio of my 4runner, I want to use a cable. I do not want to command the IPOD from the radio nor see the playlists in it. I want to listen my IPOD through the stereo without the noise induced by the FM transmitter (i,e. I want the same functionality provided by the FM transmitter)

My radio is a FUJITSU model 86120-35410 (Toyota brand),

Can someone recommend me a provider of such cable?

in your glove box you should have an auxiliary plug at the bottom right corner (i have a 2006 4runner) and get a cord with two male plugs like the ones on head phones from best buy and plug on end into your ipod and theother to the auxiliary jack... then on your stero hit the aux button and press play....
the cord cost me $13 and works great
 
Thank you, but my 4runner seems to be the "from" model (sr5) and does not have that plug. nevertheless will check with the local dealer.

I think AMJ04 just mis-spoke about the plug location. The plug is in the bottom of the center console not the glove box.

He was right on the money about the cable though.
 
i have a 2006 4runner and in my center consoul i have a small plug hole in the bottom right hand corner in the front of the console... it has a flap over it you have to lift up.. not to hard to find

Perhaps the best way to start is to find out what year 4runner you have. 4th gens made before 2006 do not have this cable.

Did you get a manual with it? The guys who posted earlier with 2006 models say it's down by that metal dish on the lower right of the front facing part of that center console part behind a little cover. You know the box right by your right arm.

My T4R does not have that plug, nevertheless I found a plug under the center console that is exactly the same plug that fits into the back of the radio. What a coincidence... I wonder if this is the plug that is availableto plug in the IPOD in more expensive models of my car.
Now I need a cable to convert this 6 pins female plug (2 pins + 4 pins in a second row) into an IPOD cable. Any recommendation?

I don't know the dealer situation in Santiago but I think I would start there. You should be able to buy it from Yoyota. Good luck.

In my '01 4runner, I still have a tape deck (not sure on your model), but I took a tape adapter from my old handheld CD player and BAM, thing is crystal clear, two volume controls (radio and iPod), only downside is no charge capability. You probably have one in a box of junk sitting somewhere

Are talking about that loose blue connector? If so it does not go to the radio. It is intended for something else.
 
I gave up...MY T4R does not have a plug to directly connect the IPOD into the radio. I will need to go to the market and buy a piece of hardware. I will start a new thread to discuss this.
