Not much different than a Subaru Legacy. I don't know about the third gen Escalade, but I've heard the second gen don't have low range making it not very different than an AWD vehicle.

No low range on the 3rd gen's either. Makes a good unit for camping and winter driving.

Yup, that's what this gal I use to work with ended up. She was so giddy about getting a RR and how "fly" she is with it. Then it broke down in her own driveway and her future sister inlaw put a few parts in it to get it running. Drove it over to a mechanic where it broke down further and rather than pay the bills for the repairs, the mechanic inherited it.

There are hand me downs that are worthy of passing around and then there are hand me a pile of crap that can't be flushed away soon enough.
