I can understanding buying a used one because you can't afford a new one. I was just trying to make the point that the new car market is in the toilet. Dealers are desparate to move new SUVs and are letting them go cheap. That has a direct effect on the value of used SUVs. To go by book value on used gas-guzzlers like ours seems like a mistake in this current economy.

To put it another way, I just bought a brand new 4Runner with full factory warranty for a few thousand more than you paid for your 3 year old 44K mile 4Runner. But after looking at your posts, I can see it's not worth your time to drive a couple hundred miles to save a few thousand dollars. Plus, you'll be enjoying those free wheel alignments for life.:clap:

that's what i'm saying. i don't understand how his friend purchased his for so cheap. probably an in an accident, or a fleet vehicle or something

The truck is mint. Not a scratch on it, 1 owner, no accidents, no paint work anywhere, all dealer serviced. These trucks are getting less expensive and the days of paying over book for any vehicle (even a Toyota) are long gone, for the time being.

Based on your posts, it seems like you feel you've overpaid. But as long as you're happy with the deal you got - that's what matters. I would try to stop worrying since you probably can't return it and what's done is done. You'll just give yourself heartburn...

well, compared to everything you're all talking about i feel like i may have overpaid.

at the same time, the truck looks literally brand new. most people that didn't know i bought it used assumed it was new.

regardless, i think the location has a lot to do with the price.
