Cali Raised light bar angle?

So I installed a Cali Raised light bar in the grill and secured it down in a 90 degree angle thinking this was best, but was curious if any of you that have one kept it at 90 degrees or angled them more up to get a further throw of light. In the picture you'll see the spot lights hitting the ground about 30 feet in front of me. Is this proper placement or would you guys push them out further? What works best for you?

I installed mine the same way, basically eyeballing it as close to perpendicular to the ground as I could get it.

First time I turned it on on the road at night, I wasn't super pleased because it felt like too much light was thrown up close and not enough was thrown down the road.

However, the first time I actually used it for off road night driving I came away impressed and happy with the throw in that orientation. It put the light where I wanted so as to be able to see technical stuff right in front of me and pick a good line.

It sounds like for your purposes, you should have ordered a flood or combo beam light, as they are designed to light up the area directly in front of you in a wider, more useable pattern. The purpose of a spot beam is to throw light a long way down the road, pointing it down at the ground like this gives you a small, very intense light pattern that is going to glare off things.

A combo beam would be aimed so the hot spot throws down the road, while the diffused beam lights up the area directly in front of you, the best of both worlds.

That is what I have. I'm fine with it and it performs well but just kind of wish it had a longer light throw, thats all.

It does, aim it so the hot spot isn't hitting the ground in front of you and fires down the road where it's meant to be pointed.

I'm not familiar with your setup but I'd recommend going to an open field and try adjusting it for how you want it with your driving style. If your ripping the trails at 60 mph, aim the beam farther so you can see obstacles farther away. If your crawling through the woods at 5 mph aim it closer. I've went through so many lights at different lumens, angels, combo/spot/flood and amber/clear lenses to find the setup I'm at now (and unfortunately a bunch of money).. the lights will only benefit you if it meets your driving style and needs for the light.

No, of course not. The bar is flood/spot combo. I just use it at my work, out in the country area, etc.
