CALLING ALL CANADIAN/ TORONTO 4th gen owners!!!

I have three 4th gens. 06 with Shrock Works winch bumper and rock sliders for off road summer and winter - 07 for winter - 08 V8 spring/summer for hauling quads. I replace drive line components with OEM components. I do all mechanical work except for V8 timing belt. Front axles from Rock Auto are shyte for OFF ROAD. Not gravel roads or dirt roads but OFF ROAD. I will never purchase another Rock Auto part. Front inner seals of axles are best purchased OEM. Brake components OEM. You truly get what you pay for with drive line components. Ensure you grease the driveshafts zerks and use two different grease types. You should not use Moly grease on frictionless bearings (ie: ball or roller bearings like in a U-Joint). The Moly will "plate" the surfaces and the bears will chew themselves up. Moly grease is used on sliding surfaces like the slip joint. The Moly will form a low friction plating on these surfaces. So... the answer is "yes" you should use two types of grease. Just because the mechs at the Toyota house don't do it does not mean they are right. I have had
"professional" mechanics FU lots of stuff for me.

Recommend though you flush/exchange the brake fluid and anti freeze ASAP. If your driving gravel and dirt leave the rig as is and enjoy

Recently moved to Calgary. US dealers have a parts section on their websites that's really useful for part numbers. I havent found canadaian ones that do but I usually just go in person and request for a quote. I drive by 2 toyota dealerships to and from work so that helps.

For UCA I'm looking at JBA Offroad. They make a very high quality BJ UCA that gives more articulation than a uniball. Its also ceramic coated which is an added bonus for corrosion prevention. Requires greasing every 5000 miles, but the ball is in a semi-sealed unit. Really good looking product.
