Calling all Canadians

I know in the states, people are paying a lot less for the ECP (extended care program, extended warranty) I’m not sure how much less maybe someone can chime in and let us know. But I’m wondering if any Canadians out there have paid less for the extended warranty. The 8/200km is $3500 that’s quite expensive. I know the guys in the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><ST1:pUS </ST1:pare paying $1500.

Thanks in advance,

Like anything it's negotiable - I bought a Corolla for my wife this time last year - they knocked $300 off the $1799 std fee for 6yrs/200k. Yes - it is still an absolute rip-off compared to US pricing, but there's nothing new there !

One way to beat them down can be to get a quote from warrantydirect.ca and go armed with that in hand - unfortunately a quote right now with them for 7/160 is 2459 which is not far off the Toyota price. It boils down in large part to the absolutely crazy price of Toyota parts in Canada I suspect.

Now if we could get a group buy in Canada...

I didn't purchase extended warranty. It's too expensive, I had one before in the past and although it was for 4 year old Ford Windstar and I used the warranty few times in dealership I still overpaid a few hundred.
I hope that 4Runner will be a reliable vehicle and it doesn't need extended warranty especially if it that expensive.
