Calling all ScangaugeII owners!!!

I am looking for some information. I would like to hear from someone who has a ScangaugeII in a 99 and up 4-runner. I want to know what your Transmission Temperature reading is at it hottest. I am looking for numbers from STOCK transmission coolers, not with aftermarket coolers installed. I purchased mine AFTER I bypassed the stock cooler. I would like to know what temperature the tranny is using the stock system. Considering the Radiator has coolant temperature over 200 degrees, I am curious if the tranny temps reach those temps as well.

I am trying to compare my numbers with factory numbers.

With air temperatures here in southern Illinois @ 99+ degrees, my aftermarket cooler temp is reading a high of 176 degrees in slow traffic.

I am considering adding an additional cooler, but before I go down that road, I want some real-world data for comparison.

Sorry, I didn't check mine before going external. But if you are seeing 176F fluid temp in 99F air, your cooler is working really well. No worries. If anything, consider adding a fan to your existing cooler.

This is with a fan already installed. When the fan was not installed, going down the road was fine, but sitting in traffic the Temp. would start to creep up. I haven't towed anything as of yet, but my concern is that I don't have enough cooling for towing a large load in hot weather.

I also remember reading that Tranny fluid doesn't like to be anywhere near 200 degrees, and my plan is to change it out for synthetic, which has a higher temp. threshold.
