Calling any electronics whizzes...

So I have a DVD player installed in my 99 4Runner. The problem is this: many times I turn off my car, or try and use the window buttons the new stereo crackles and pops like crazy. It never just pops and crackles out of the blue, so I don't think that there is a short or exposed wiring. It does it when I push the window button with the lights, AC, stereo and DVD going. (There are 2 amplifiers, an active crossover and a power capacitor to boot, but those all pull power directly from the battery and never seem to have an issue -- it's a big ass 1 farad cap too, plus the amps have the juice coming from a brand new battery)

I'm wondering if the draw from the much more powerful and demanding DVD player -- that replaced the stock CD player -- is overloading and should be run on a relay. I'm afraid that all the interior electronics are being run on exisiting electronics that have now been far exceeded.

Would running a relay for the DVD unit - with power being drawn from the battery directly - improve the situation?

I have an 01' and am running a 10.2 flip down DVD from the roof as well as have 2 monitors on the head rests, along with an upgraded audio system. Yes, it has to have it own line to the battery or a relay as you say. It will stop that wheezing. That wheezing is due to lower power and also an improper ground somewhere.

It's no so much wheezing (or engine noise) as it is, literally, crackles pops and hisses. Perhaps by wheezing you mean the faint high-pitched whine that gets higher/louder when you push the gas pedal, that's engine noise...

I'm thinking that the interior electronics are overdrawing what is available and that is what's causing it.
