Anybody have any stories about aftermarket cams. Have seen something about oversize valves for same engine. Manufactures of parts would be nice. Would like to change cam and going to have valves replaced so might have well have larger ones installed if available. Exhaust and throttle body too.

Imo, the 3vze is best stock. Putting performance parts on it is a waste of money. Your going to put a ton of $$ in to the heads for an extra 15 hp..maybe.. Id lap the valves, put it back together and call it good.
Exhaust though, the 3vze has a stupid design where the left bank runs behind the engine where it meets up with the other side and goes down. Best way to fix this (and most bang for your buck "mod") on the ole vzee is a nice set of headers. Will help save your headgasket too.

For the amount ot $$ your going to drop in the 3vze to get a little power out of it, you can drop in a 3.4, 4.3, ls or whatever and have better HP and TQ from the get go and a better engine to build off.
Dont get me wrong, I love the 3vze. Prefer it hands down over the 22RE (sorry kid v) You just have to take it for what it is.
