Just had the new 1.25" Camburg UCA's put on. They are so fresh out of powder coating that they didn't even give me the "Camburg" decals for them yet.

Nice, looks better w/o the stickers anyway. Saves a step of debadging them, haha. Post up an alignment sheet when/if you get that done.

Thanks, and yes the balls are replaceable.

I don't have the alignment sheet but I wasn't going to complain because they got it aligned for free for me. I do know the caster is now around 3 or 4 though.

I let Camburg keep my stock UCA's overnight so they could take measurements of the ball joint for upcoming UCA designs. When I went by to get them today, I also grabbed the badges that go on the UCA's. I personally think it ;looks less plain with them on. So for now, they stay. Picture added to 1st post.

I really wish they would make a cover for the top of the uniball. The ones on my truck get rocks and sand in the uniball and it gets squeaky after a while. Teflon spray keeps em quiet for 3-4 weeks

I thought about fabbing up my own shield somehow, but haven't gone through with it yet. I bought a bottle of teflon dry lube from a bike shop, and I am going to keep a squirt bottle in my truck so I can blast out any dirt/grime if it squeaks while offroading. I think it'll work a little better than just pouring water on it. Then just wipe it off with a towel, throw some lube on it, and it's good to go.

If anyone is interested in getting aftermarket UCA's, they started to squeak a little after I got home from offroading but it was minimal. I wiped off the top/bottom of the uni-balls, sprayed some teflon lube on them, then wiped off any excess lube later in the day. Total time spent cleaning/re-lubing them, about 1 minute to stop any creaks. I see that as a small downside considering the benefits they give, and they only creak when they get really dirty. Click the Big Bear IV thread in my signature to see exactly how much dirt/mud it took to make these squeak. :D

...Just a little info for anyone who is worried about UCA's squeaking.

Also, on a side note: They did not make a single sound DURING offroading, only after I got home. Even then it was very minimal, and only when turning at speeds of 5MPH or less (like backing into a parking spot).

Very happy with this purchase. :bigok:

Those do look pretty cool. One question...i am no expert welder by any shot of the imagination, but do those welds look a bit "amateurish" or is it that i am blind??

They look fine to me in person, but I can let you know later today after I detail my truck. I'll take a good look at them.

I am sure that they are fine. On the 2nd picture, the welding on the flange on the left side (holding the air line or something) looks "bubbly". Again, i am no welder...nor pretend to be one. I guess that i expected cleaner welding from a good company.

I know all the main joints are welded very well. So the overall strength of the UCA's is of no concern to me. You are right about the clips that hold the lines, they look a bit bubbly. At least the passenger side does, I'll look at the drivers side today.

BTW, what is THAT "air" line or whatever it is???

Welds were all fine. The passenger side tab for the ABS line was a little bubbly but not nearly as much in person as it appears in the picture. The drivers side was a perfect weld, and all of the main joints look solid.

I agree. They are not pretty, but there still appears to be penetration. As long as the bead doesn't appear to sit on top of the metal he'll be ok.

The only one like that was the clip for the ABS line. All of the major welding points look great.

I added a picture to the first post of the suspension at full droop. Sorry for the poor quality, I was too lazy to go inside to get my camera so I used my iPhone.

So exactly What Are the REAL benifits of Replacing the UPPER Controls arms ???

Never Heard of anyone bending or busting them .
