Thinking of looking for a reasonable 1st gen. With rear seats removed, can a 6ft person sleep on a standard twin mattress? I do that now in my 2008 4R, mattress barely fits with front seats all way up.
Any camping pics inside a 1st gen would be most appreciated.
Thanks!
It's a tight fit for someone our height( I'm about 6ft also). When you fold the seats flat there is a little lip formed from the seat. So your feet/ ankles are elevated, not very comfortable. You can remedy that problem by making a simple sleeping platform, but that takes up headroom. Add a air mattress and that takes up even more headroom. You'd have to be pretty agile to get in and out of the truck at this point. I don't have any pics on hand but I have had some great nights sleeping in the back despite the elevated feet, which can work in your favor if you've been hiking and your feet are swollen
Trying to understand why you would want to sleep in the truck..?

I dunno guys.. it takes me 6 minutes top to pitch my 8-man tent, by myself.. then blow up the queen air mattress with an electric pump, and its comfy/roomy.
So if you have a truck full of stuff.. and you want to sleep in the back.. do you have to put everything outside overnight or just toss it all in the front seat?
