Camping this weekend 2007 Ltd

Here are a few shots of my 4Runner on our camping trip this weekend. Finally got a break from the office!!! Too bad I have to go back in the morning. We had planned on going to a different site but when we heard Mt Pacifico was open we headed right up. The boxes in front of my scope are my camera gear and the telescope. The viewing wasn't that great as it was windy. Turns out also VERY VERY COLD! It got down into the teens and was windy all night. I was sleeping in the truck on a truck-bedz, it was cold but at least not windy...my buddies were in the tent freezing all night. :lmao:

Your story reminds me of an experience I've had. I was up north camping and at a 4x4 rally , all my friends were tent camping , I chose to sleep in the back of my S10 Blazer (this was back in 1985). Naturally I was called a wuss for doing so. That night we had huge, huge rains , high winds all night. Needless to say who faired out the best in that situation . Their tents were actually floating and washing away.

What are your lift and tire spec's ?

I didn't realize that but from the pics the two of the drivers side make the truck look lifted more than it is. It is uneven and if you look at the passenger side you will see the RR tire tucked neatly. The lift is Downey's kit (essentially 3x2). The tires are BFG TA-KO's 32's. Because the Ltds come with 7.5x18" rims I am restricted by what tires will mount as well as fit in the spare area. This is my daily driver so I also wanted the tires to last a long time and the TA-KOs always last at least 60k for us (sometimes up to 90k.) Anyway, I plan to upgrade the BFGs 265/65R18 when they finally wear out and at that time, either there will be more options for 18

Downey's kit is pretty nice. They are coilover and the front can be cranked up to 5-6" (if I recall correctly...not that anyone would intentionally destroy their CVs) and down to level the vehicle. In my kit they also included spacers to move the sway bars for clearance. They are installed but aren
