I never thought I would see that day. A Toyota in NASCAR?! AT first I thought I was looking at a Coca-Cola car. I love that oversized TRD sticker on the rear quarter. I think I will get one and slap it on my 4Runner's @ss.
Strange though, other than the headlight decals, it doesn't look or resemble a Camry at first glance. Funny thing is my wife rented a Camry this past Sunday to drive up to Sacramento. Dark red/burgundy too.

They have actually been in NASCAR for 2 years with the Tundra for the truck series starting in 2004, although the Tundra is still produced in the USA (so technically this was still domestic). Now a camry running with the big boys will be interesting...

I have been looking forward to this day. I think TRD is really going to do good in NASCAR just like in the NCTS. Of course there will be those core fans that will be hacked that they are coming in, but I think it will only make the competition better. They are also saying that Honda will be coming in at some point and that Nissan will be going into trucks in '07. Regardless, I can't wait to see them on the track testing!

Drivers No problem!!!
There are plenty of young drivers who would do or drive anything to be in the Busch or Cup series. The same thing was said when the Tundra entered the Truck series. Hell I live close enough to Charlotte. I think I have enough speeding tickets to qualify for for a track test. I already own a Camry. Granted the runner is faster. Who knows just give me a chance.. I could be the next new old guy. Hell 31 is old in Nascar now. :driving: LOL

Thats huge news here in Datyona the worlds center of racing. get the impression that some were not fans of the idea. I think they are worried about full factory teams or full factory support that would give them an advantage over private team owners. I don't think Bill France will let that happen. Check out the Daytona Beach News Journal online for more info. They dedicate tons of the sports page to racing. Unlike any other paper I read - they made fun of the coverage on Cold Pizzza the other day.

I think it is going to open the door for many new drivers and just make the sport more interesting, but making all manufactures push their programs.
