Can anyone identify this truck?

Can anyone identify the approx. year and which model/trim level this is? I see a sport hood but it's not a Highlander and I thought the sport package was only avail on 99+ SR5s? I also don't see Limited badging but that could have been removed.

From this perspective all that can really be determined is that it's a 96-02 Limited trim with sport hood and aftermarket wheels exhaust and tailgate spoiler.

Edit: Either the hood or the flares and cladding have been added to confuse the viewer in determining the original trim as limited models did not have a sport hood with a scoop.

So, chances are it was originally a Limited based on the cladding and flares that someone added a sport hood to and removed the "limited" badging from the c pillar?

Most likely. Also looks like it has the skinnier front bumper that was present in the 96-98 years.

It looks like a fat lip bumper up front to me which would be 99+ Kind of a bad angle though.

Hard to tell from this angle, but that appears to be the fat lip bumper. So its a 99 or newer.
I'd guess limited with the matching painted front bumper.
If I recall some of the SR5s had that on newer models right?

With the sport hood I'd say it is a sport edition with the badge removed.

Sport and highlander models had colored matched bumpers to the body. Limited bumpers were the trim color so if the body was blue and the limited cladding and trim were silver then the bumpers were also silver in 99+ models, 96-98 limiteds had the chrome bumpers. This 4Runner may be mismatched but I think it's tasteful [MENTION=102813]SURF RUNNER[/MENTION] did something similar by adding a sport hood to his limited and I think it looks fantastic.

I don't think it's a sport because it has the cladding on the doors that only came on limiteds and I don't think someone would add those at least I wouldn't.

Yeah I've seen some people on here do it I just think it's too much work and if I wanted the cladding I would buy a limited instead of putting it on a base or sr5. Personally I don't care. I think it looks good with the cladding and without it
 
this is my 4runner when i first bought it.there is no limited bading because it is a Highlander SR5 with Limited Flares. This is how i bought it from the previous owner. i have now repainted the lower flares to smokey granite mica from the Lexus cars.

I knew those flares weren't color matched but saw that topaz and thundercloud were the only colors avail. That explains it... Good looking truck. So is the picture I posted from before you owned it?

as stated it was about 2 months into ownership on it.
 
I appreciate the comments about my 4Runner.

I'm thinking that everything might be factory on this 4Runner believe it or not. My guess is that this is a 1999, 2000 or 2001 SR5 (with the addition of Highlander/Sport Edition trim). Remember that the Sport Edition badging only came on the 2002 model. TOYOTA was moving away from the Highlander designation because they were working on a completely new vehicle called the Highlander. I have seen some later 3rd Gen SR5s with the Limited style flares and cladding. I have also seen this darker gray trim color used with Imperial Jade Mica. The fatlip bumper tells me it is 1999-2002. TOYOTA offered Sport hoods in Imperial Jade Mica from 1999 to 2001, so that is correct. I'm not sure if it is a 1999, 2000 or 2001, but I think it is one of those years and completely factory (except for the wheels and rear spoiler).
