Can barely tap gas pedal

Im almost sure its the maf, but almost dont really work. I dont have the check engine light on, but my problem is that when I drive my 90 v6 I have to really baby the gas pedal or it will turn off. In the process of turning off it will throw black smoke from the exhaust and run super rich. Thats what leads me to believe its the maf.. Anyone have any related problems to this? Or know what it could be? I already changed cap, rotor, wires, and plugs.

i would test the throttle position sensor as well as the MAF.
You can test then via guide lines of the FSM all you need is a Ohm meter.

Could be a vacuum line leak. While the engine is running, spray a little starter or brake cleaner around the vacuum hoses and see if that revs up your motor. If so, you have some lines that need replaced and your problem is solved. Just vacuum issues.

Checked the tps and maf everything is with in specs. No vac leaks either. Checked fuel pressure that fine too. Its throwing too much fuel under hard acceleration, but runs perfect if you baby the throttle. Going to swap out ecms this week once I find one. Any other ideas guys?

timing, make sure you adjust the timing with the jumper in place so you trick the ECU.

my 87 does the same thing, and its getting worse..
If I go over say 10% throttle, its like the engine is only running off two cylinders. The truck runs the same but REALLY BAD after its been in a good rain, for example, the other day on my way to school I was on the interstate and at FULL THROTTLE all I could muster was 60 and the motor sounded again like just two cylinders...
Im no mechanic, but have a gut feeling its fuel delivery related.
hopefully get it fixed soon, driving the truck is getting frustrated I was used to going slow but not THIS damn slow!

changed my plugs and wires and WOW, the truck is better than when I bought it! God damn, now I can actually worry about speeding and not worry about merging on the highway and interstate. check your plugs and wires
