Can I bleed front brakes only?

Just replaced calipers on my 2001. Can I bleed only the fronts, or do I have to do all four? I've seen some mention that front and back are separated somehow, but can't find confirmation of this. I lost minimal brake fluid in the caliper swap.

You can bleed only the fronts if you want till hopefully you didn't run the master cylinder dry.

If you did that you have to bench bleed the master cylinder then bleed all 4. Along with activating the abs to make sure no air is in it too..

You can do fronts only. That's what I did a few months ago. No issues. Don't let the master go dry whatever you do, like brillo said.

Each brake has its own line coming from the ABS module so you could do just one if you had to. No need to do all 4 unless you have reason to do so.

As long as there are no bubbles in the ABS system, rear brake lines/cylinders or master cylinder, you can do fronts only. If there is air in any of those other locations, you must to rears first.

Absolutely not, at least on the '96-'00 models, from the FSM:

The 01 and 02 have a brake line going to each wheel. Thus a line to each wheel. The 96 thru 2000 only have 1 line for the rear.

01 and 02 have a different master cylinder as well as abs system too.

You always bleed from the furthest corner from the master cylinder to the closest so what you posted is incorrect.

Sometimes I get the BLUE brake fluid (yes, I know the DOT specifications are for amber) which helps me know exactly when the new fluid is starting to come out.
