Can i bypass the Mass air flow sensor without touching the ECU

My buddy recently installed a hydrogen boost system on his 04' 4runner. It's supposed to give him more horses (which it did) and better fuel economy (which it didn't cause his MAF sensor is telling the computer to add more fuel to the air/fuel ratio so the ratio is correct) If I was to get one of these systems for my 05' 4runner and fed the air into the intake (airflow going in one direction into the engine) after the airflow sensor, will that make it so the MAF sensor isn't reading the extra air therefore the car will not add more fuel to the air/fuel mix? Hope i'm makin sense. please help. I wouldn't see why this isnt possible.

I believe you need to add a controller for the sensor. You adjust the ratio and set it to lean out your mix for city or highway driving. I guess that's how the HHO gas device works- use less gas by starving the engine but giving it more HHO instead. I've seen them selling for around $30 at the Water4Gas meets. If you live in SoCal they're at on the North side of Woodley @ Woodley Ave. Park every Sunday afternoon. My buddy just put one can in his 84 toyota yesterday....waiting for the results.

no not NOS, Hydrogen. lol. Using a sensor controller, you are touching the ecu. im tryin to avoid that. thanks for helping though. other people dont even give a flying f**k.

What about doing some platic fab work? If you increase the diameter of the plastic tube between the filter and the 'N' in K&N (in your pic above) you'd 'trick' the flow sensor. The amount of air mass 'sensed' at a given power setting would be reduced because of the larger diameter. How much bigger? I don't know but that would do it without messing with the ECU. Return to stock would be fairly easy and it wouldn't leave any scars Simply replace the K&N with stock or get another K&N...

I understand what you are sayin but there are 2 things wrong with your theory 1 of which you didnt know.

first, i have the air intake you see only mine is stainless steel and insulated and the box is different.

second. I would have to increase the diameter so much to make a difference that it wouldn't fit under my hood.

i have heard or people adding propane to desil trucks, but never thought about adding hydro, are you just going to have gas bottle in the trunk or something?
