Can I fit 285's?

Can I fit 285/70/R17 Nitto Trail Grapplers on my 4th gen. T4R with a 2.5" level in the front without any kind of rubbing? Not planning on doing this immediately but some time in the near future.

I have a 2000, 3" lift and I have 285/60/16's It rubs only slightly...I had to trim plastic and small amount of the metal...just a tad.....

Soooo...... You have a different size tire, different sized lift and a different generation 4runner.......

The trail grapplers are a very square tire that's larger for the size than some so you will have to trim. That being said, I say go for it. I'm running 295's with 3" lift and no BL, and not rubbing after a bit of trimming. You'll like the TG's though.

You might need spacers and a lot of inner liner trimming. The LT285/70R17 is a full 33" tire so you might still rub.

So I'm looking at putting 285's on my 2007. Already have Spidertrax for my OEM wheels and did a little trimming and pushing the wheel lining forward to fit my 265/70-17 Terra Grapplers.

Any idea how much more trimming etc I may have to do to fit the 285's? Also been thinking of changing to 16 inch wheels with 4.5 backspace on a 8 inch wheel (285/75-16). Think I'll have to keep running the Spidertrax?

I'm totally noob at wheels and tires and curious if I'll have to chop the body mounts and have issues at full stuff in the rear.

Do you have a lift? Without a lift, I'd say you'll have quite a bit of rubbing on both the fender and mud flaps. Body mount chop mostly depends on the tire you choose, I'd plan on it just in case.

I roll 285/75-16 and they're fine with slight trimming/mods. I have 3" lift.... 2.5" might not work tho.

I have a 3 in rc lift and stock wheels. Can I run the 285s? The tire guys said it will rub uca and wouldn’t install unless I bought his 17” rims. Rc recommends the 285 with the lift but having a hard time getting the tires put on. Anyone else running this? Am I going to need wheel spacers? Or will it work as is with taking mud flaps off etc
