Can I make the aux input work with an E7019?

I bought this factory nav and I am hoping I can get the aux input (or any aux input actually) work with this headunit. It does have an aux button, but when hooking it up to the factory wires the aux doesn't work. The steering wheel controls work just perfectly, and I believe the aux wiring is on the same plug, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be working. Is there an aftermarket solution or a trick to wiring it so that it does work?

I really like the receiver, I just think I'd like it a lot more if I could use the factory or even a non-factory aux input for my ipod so I don't have to carry a cd collection around with me.

Sorry this is off topic and I don't have an answer for you, but my button lights on my e7019 don't work. I was told to ground the dimmer wire but still nothing, maybe I have wrong wire. Did you have this problem or know a solution?

I'll have to hook mine up again and double check and see if everything is working. Did you have to do anything for the vehicle speed sensor or any of that on yours? Were you able to get the right disc yet? I am trying to buy an 8.1 disc now to include with mine. I'll probably be selling it as we just found a house that my wife has fallen in love with and I've got to come up with $19,000 in 30 days. I think the 4Runner will be on the block ASAP as well. What a bummer. But at least my family will be in a house that we can all fit in finally. We've been living in a little place for 10 years and trying to save up for a house we'd want to retire in.

I'll give it a go on hooking the E7019 up and see what quirks I can see. It seemed like things worked, but when I had it going it was during the day and I didn't notice any lights being out. Do you mean the ones behind the buttons? Sorry I was slow to respond. I've been reading everything I can trying to figure these out and what's the best cheap option on a stereo for me. Probably I'll stick with the factory since selling is in the future it seems.
 
haha I wrote that from my iPhone, and just noticed everything I misspelled and it autocorrected wrong... I am really bad at typing on that thing.
Anyways, I am not sure anymore if the dimmer wire needs to be grounded. The guy I bought it from had it in his Matrix, and apparently those need to be grounded as the wiring is a bit different because the Matrix is a joint design between Toyota and GM.
My buttons did not light when I hooked it up, and the screen wouldn't dim when I turned on the headlights, but nothing would work on my unit except say "please insert correct map disc" and open. I couldn't play music get the screen to change at all, or even turn it off. So that might be why nothing would change, I think the system is locked off until I put the correct map disc in, which should be here tomorrow.
I guess I will see tomorrow
 
Let me know how it turns out. I'm not getting any interest in mine for sale. So I'm probably just going to hook it up so I can at least use it. I just don't know how to get all the features I want going. I can't figure out how to get an aux line working since the factory one doesn't, and I'm not sure if I should be hooking up a VSS/Reverse sensor.
 
I'm not sure what the E7019 looks like in the back. If it's anything like the E7007, E7008 and E7009, the AUX input is separated into a differernt connector. On the non-NAV 4Runner, the AUX input wires are located on the 20-pin connector that also houses the steering-wheel control wires. You would need to extract those wires from the 4Runner's harness and connect them to the applicable spot on the E7019. Sorry I can't be more specific, I don't have all the diagrams to figure out which wire goes where. I put in an E7007 in my 4Runner last year and still haven't gotten around to figuring out how to wire in the AUX input.

This is the wiring for the factory aux adapter. It is left, right, signal ground, and aux on/off.

Okay, here are the wires from the aux jack into the E7007/E7008/E7009. I included the diagram of the connector they connect to on the NAV unit and a part number for the connector.

Thanks for the info guys! Even if I don't get it wired up right, I think this is great info to have archived here. It seems like the E7019's are appearing more and more frequently in 4Runners so either way this will be good info to have here.

I hooked it back up tonight and most things worked just fine. No aux (but I didn't try jimmying it to work either). The steering wheel controls work, the nav works well with the antenna velcroed under the dash, and the cd player works really well. The thing sounds great, and the color on the screen matches the color of the lights on the vehicle perfectly.

I did try things with the lights on. It was dusk out, but the only thing I noticed was that the screen color on the nav screen changed color when the lights were turned on. Instead of a white background with black roads, the background turned black and the roads turned white. Everything went inverse, but it was easier to see the screen that way, so that is a very cool feature.

I wish the aux was just a straight plug in. If so this would be the perfect setup for me because I have a fifth gen ipod that has like 5,000 songs on it. It is great to never have to look at a CD! :)
 
I have an 04 so I dont have the aux input ( i think that started in 06) but everything else works great in mine now, thanks for the help. I hope you get your aux working, my next step is to find one for mine as well. I am a bit bummed, the blue connector he said was for aux I was thinking was for backup camera... There is not other connectors back there that are free on mine... which must mean that I cant hook up the backup camera?
 
The AUX IN cables are on ebay under auction # 2004 6965 1647, they will also work with most of the Scion Nav units.

On my E7008 the 6pin conneer did not work?!?!?!?! I had use drmorbius's diagram to connect it. Wierd!
