can i replace a v6 with a 4cyl

I have a 1991 4runner with the v6 3.0 in it. My friend gave me a 22re with computer and wiring harness. Can I swap them? My 4runner has a automatic tranny but I may be able to get his tranny too. Pretty sure its a automatic. Thanks
