Can I return a brake caliper core for credit...

I had the ubiquitous frozen piston on a front brake caliper. I ordered a Toyota reman. unit from Partznet.com, installed it, and all is fine.

Returning the old caliper for $20 core credit would not be productive by mail since it's quite heavy. Does anyone know if a local dealership, or anyone else for that matter, would take the part back for core credit without an original purchase? Thanks.

You say "ubiquitous frozen piston" problem... So this is happening to a lot of people? I just posted a question asking if anyone else has seen this.
