Can our reflector housings handle 100 watts?

Okay cool, this basically sounds like exactly what I want and I was thinking the same thing in terms of cost. I was talking to one company about glass housings with projectors built in them, like a custom retrofit, that was like $700 and I honestly just am not a fan of the projector cut off. Plus I think on our rigs the classic look can't be beat!

Oh, as an update, it looks like the koito bulbs can't be ordered anywhere. So now I guess I need to find a different brand... I did order the harness though from that guy in Colorado.

I have a Hall effect amp meter on my Alt output. I think it’s a little over 6a per bulb.

I’ll confirm but those Napa “bright as hell” bulbs push 80w on low beam and have a 2 year warranty.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Napas are actually Hellas, nice warranty though.

The darn silver stars have a 1 year and sometimes last just past the warranty. Plus I feel the Napa branded bulbs are brighter. So much so I put them in everything. Even the fogs on my 97….

The heat-sensitive bits are the bulb sockets. The upgrade kit Zhehan linked
has ceramic sockets.

They're not listed for the '01-'02 rigs with DRL; the relay in the kit goes crazy.
But pulling up the parking brake one click lights the brake light on the dash,
turns off the DRLs, and lets the upgrade kit function. That's the route I've gone,
and several months in it appears to be working fine so far.

I have the same from Amazon with possibly smaller 16awg wire and it handles my Napa extra bright headlights well….based on the amps they draw, they are 85w on low beam.

The Link everyone is sharing with the wiring harness came with 20ga power wires and a 30amp fuse, my review and another person a year later shows the wire gauge and is titled "fire hazard", but I'm using amazon.ca, the ceramic connectors and relays where handy, but I replaced all the power wires with 14ga and used a 20amp fuse.

Amazon US listing shows 14ga power wires, same diagram shown on the CA listing.

Yes it does, but if you cut the red main power wire, you will see it has thick insulation and 20ga wire core, surprised my photos in the review comparing 14ga to 20ga wire provided isn't in the review attached to the link everyone is sharing here, another review shows the exact same issue. Can nobody see the reviews from Amazon.ca?

I have the harness and mine looked 16awg to 18awg. Still works great with no mods. My Napa bulbs pull 6a each on low beam which makes them an 80w low beam filament.

Yeah the Amazon has room for improvement but does the trick. The goal is to get almost 2x the wattage bulbs into those housings so we can actually drive at night without dying.
 
So has an update, I received the OSRAM 100/90 bulbs. I was able to get them on a sale from last week so I got them at $8 a bulb. But for so I would have to spares. Surprisingly these are still made in Germany which is pretty awesome!

I'm still waiting on the harness though, so no testing yet... More to come
