hey brian do the 58" sliders fit perfectly? I was looking at some old threads on YT and noticed that i think ScottyC was using 66" sliders for his 4runner...

Here's where I got mine:

If you get the gussets you can choose to weld the sliders to those and then bolt them on to the frame:

I think the 58" look better IMO. There's about 4" of leeway (front and back) between the slider and the wheel wells. You could probably squeeze the 67" ones in there and they would go pretty much all the way to the wheel wells:

They way I figured it is, with 58s, if it's a big enough rock to smash your rocker panels, it isn't going to be able to fall in that 4" unprotected space very easily and do any more damage than if I had 67s. I figured between looking better (IMO) and costing less $$, the 58s were the way to go. Another thing I considered is I may go up to 35s someday and might do some cutting and trimming on the wheel wells and didn't want the 67s in the way. I recommend calling Datinfab and asking if the 67s are a good idea for '96-02 4runners, because they say they're for an '84-88 Extra Cab.

ok ya i plan on going to 35s and 2" BL so im guessing i should prob just stick with the 58" sliders... do/can u get some pics of the sliders from the sides and the 4" gap on each side? i just wanna make sure this is exactly wat i want it to look like.

I will but I'm still in the middle of installing them right now because the snow and mud in my driveway/street didn't start to dry up till this weekend. I may not get them welded and attached for another week or 2 (I've been trying to get this done for almost 2 months now!). I have them all marked out and took my measurements so hopefully I can get a chance to use my neighbors welder very soon.

I've seen lots of pics online of these sliders on 3rd gens so it shouldn't be too hard to find a good side shot.

ok kool, ya ive seen millions of pics of sliders but im nvr sure of the length but ill check again. So u planning on welding them to the frame or bolting on? I thought bout bolting them on in case i want to take them off at some point and i dont know how to weld. Though i still have to find a place with a reasonable price to weld the legs on.

I'm going to weld the legs to the gusset plates and then u-bolt the plates on. This way I can slide them forward or back or even remove them If I ever wanted to.

I would LOVE some more options on nerf bars. I’ve called everywhere and the only nerf type bars I can find that fit my 02 are from Westin. Don’t want sliders, just steps but all the cool ones are for new T4R’s or Jeeps.
