Hello

Tshooting a cyliner 2 misfire. So far i have just replaced the cylinder 2 spark plug, no change. My first look i felt it looked normal, but wanted to bounce it off some of you all as well to check.

The gaps are a little big, i can get the .045 on one side and .050 on the
other

You could try swapping the coil pack to a different position to see if the problem follows.

yeah i am on a path, i just tried googling spark plug condition NGK and other sources, but i didnt seem to be able match mine to their images.

step 1 swap spark plug
step 2 swap coil packs
step 3 cylinder compression test
step 4 carb cleaner through fuel injectors
step 5 replace spark plug wires (this would be #4 if they were not 4k miles old.)
step 6 new/rebuild fuel injectors
step 7 ???idk...maybe time for a real mech, ha

thanks, what about porcelain/collar above the crush washer discoloring, normal?
Yes, that corona discharge discoloration is normal. The plug looks a little wet (threads, mainly), but the electrode and ground straps look clean - looks like it is a working spark plug.

Make sure you use quality plugs (NGK or Denso) from a reputable source.

I am using Toyota plugs from my local dealership. I replaced my TPS sensor (I have been getting codes for this) and swap coil pack 3 and 5 yesterday. I let it idle for 20-30 minutes in my drive way then drove 1 mile or so yesterday and then to work today (~10 miles Round trip)...no codes so far...

Keep driving - it takes more miles than that after a 'puter reset to get thru the test cycle.

If it keeps up then I'd suggest getting live data to narrow issue down. Luck.

It has definitely finished the test cycle, but even before the misfire was fairly noticeable, and previously clearing of the codes it would be back before ever leaving park.

Still only at 30-40 miles tho, (only 6 miles RT to work each day).

Any guidance for looking at live data? link to another thread? I just have a amazon special bluetooth odbii adaptor and the torque pro app. I havent found any looking searching the forum for things to look for in the live data or from going through the app.

Flip pic 180* quote wouldn't let me chit flows down.
Follow the brown. Flipped it starts end of boot down to comp washer tube seals
usually culprit. Threaded shank turning to wet black ring to base of ground strap possible oil migration?
Brown to black closer to combustion chamber. Ground strap base to tip, electrode
and porcelain base clean in comparison. Where it gets weird.
A tan colored electrode base is proper A/F. It off being white that and strap area look too clean
like being washed. Soot on tip of strap at arc point evidence of fire.
Off the wall, plug tube seal leaking misfires poor burn no burn.
