whoa whoa whoa there, just to clarify your talking about springs from a 2000 land cruiser? or springs from a 2000 4runner?
if anything the springs from teh 2000 4runner will lower your ride, the 2000 i think was the lowest height of all of the years while the '99 was the tallest, if i remember the story correctly they lowered it because of all of the exploders flipping over back around that time and all of the law suits going on due to it.
as for the lc coils i believe they come off an earlier generation of the land cruiser then that, i think 2000 lc coils won't fit, don't quote me on that but for some reason i thought you had to pull the front coils of a landcruiser around the 1996 years or so......
you might want to double check your information before you start buying things, it just sounds as if you got something wrong here...maybe i'm just reading it wrong though....

the coils that i found are off of a 2000 4runner. I haven't bought them yet. For some reason I thought the 2000 4wd 4 runners had a taller ride height. Money is to hard for me to come by right now so I can't afford to buy without researching. Which is why I came to you guys :lookout:

ok from my understanding and looking into it a bit further you have less then a 50/50 chance of getting a lift from those coils

Thanks man. So let me get this straight. According to the other articles and the pic you found. The 99's had the tallest coils, most of them, and the 01-02 had the shortest and some of the 2000's had a mix. Am I correct?

yeah the txt looks right,but i have absolutely no clue about the color coding, don't really pay attention to those sort of details as it all get muddled and terribly confusing, but i will tell you this part of your understanding is dead on

though i would say the 99's magic/tall coils are mixed as well.
i think in the sticky at the top of this forum page there is a post with a section on the color codes, though i think that may just be for the lc coils.
where do you live? i got a complete '99 coil setup assembled and ready to go if your local to me, i'm leaving for europe next week so no time to ship or mess around with to much, but heck if your close i'll let them go for cheap.

fq never mind saw your down in NC, but yeah maybe try to piece together a lift
from the lc coils and somethign else up front, you can snag the lc's for around 80 bucks or so, and a know a member here who has a few sets...
btw, when people are talking 7-8-9 wraps they are talking about a landcruiser coil swap, we don't talk about 4runner coils in the terms of 7-8-9 wraps for the most part .

i don't know your deal but if you can wait a few hours i can run to the house and measure the assembled length of them , though i don't know how much that information would do you for, meaning that number will only be a good number to go buy if the coils your looking at are assembled on the strut and out of the truck. it cost me $50 to get the assembled so i don't really want to take them apart.
that said are you getting all 4 coils for $50? front and rear? if not i'd just get in touch with shon or brain2sun on here they either have or know somebody that has a few sets of the lc coils laying around and i'd just get those and save a little bit of money for some ome front coils ($200 or less) and then you got your self a proper lift, maybe 2 inches if you go with the 7 or 7.5 wraps, you can use your stock shocks as well for a bit as long as you don't wheel it other wise you'll rip your shock in half at full droop, lol
just something to think about, also i think steve at SS (sonora steel sp?)
sells "new" 99 tall coils

no need to do that. I can look around and probably pick some up around here. Or get in touch with the guys you were talking about. All the assembly myself so most cost is just parts. But i appreciate all the input and education. Instead of the usual forum "use the search bar" that i got on the last forum i was on.
Plus I have a nice "Lab" to work in just gotta move the motorcycle outta the way. LOL It's getting jealous lately.

I was looking this up before and the OME suspension i was looking at would raise my 98 2.5 inches a 99 2inches and a 2002 3 inches.

So according to what the TheDurk posted on color codes these are actually the front coils not the rears. So in order to take full advantage of the height I need to hit the junkyard and fine the rear coils as well for a cheap increase. Right?

Those are rear coils in the picture. I'd pass on 2000 coils. They most likely will not lift your '98, and if they do, it won't be much - 1/2" probably. The '99 "tall" coils that Sonoran Steel sells are only in their 3.0 lift kit, which is around $650. If you want just the rear coils, you're better off getting them from an online parts store or a dealership.
The 7.5, 8 and 9 wrap coils that you read about are from a Landcruiser (1990 or 91 - 1997 I think). People take the front springs from the Landcruiser and install them on the rear of the 4Runner to get about 4-6" of lift.
