Can toothpaste cure my windshield?

at 260k miles on the road my windshield is pretty much sandblasted. when the sun hits it at the right angle it will light up every single speck.

however i heard somewhere that a certain kind of toothpaste can repair things like this. is this true? is there anything i can do to restore it?

IMHO, the best you can do, is change it for a new one. I got a new one from AAA, and was $150.00

I agree, you can try glass polish, but you'll need a rotory buffer to really get that to work with your level of pitting. Might as well explore changing it out, it can be done for around $200.

260k on a windshield? Yikes. I'd just replace it and see if your insurance has a glass deductible. Mine is $100 and I look for PPG or XYG glass since those seem to resist cracking in my experiences.

yea, did some more research last night..with the pitting its at right now its pointless to try and fix, replace would be best bet at 150-200ish. and plus its brand new also right? so yea.

**edit** im not going to even spend 150 to replace though, just though i could do it myself fixing the pitting
