Can we make a "meet up" sub-forum?

So I've noticed recently that any attempt to create a thread about meet ups that are placed in the General section are moved to the Off-road section. Why is that?
I thought anything generally Toyota related, such as a meet up of Toyota owners, was what the General section was for. The past couple threads I've created for meet ups have been moved to the Off-Road section, which doesn't get anywhere close to the traffic the General section does. It wasn't a problem the first couple years, just seems to be the past few months.

I feel like there are a lot of new owners, infrequent visitors, and people who for other reasons don't go to the Off-Roading section miss out on opportunities. I rarely visited that section, until I noticed that meet up threads were getting moved there.

Is there a specific reason I'm missing?

That's actually a pretty good idea, it would be alot easier to see who's going where, and when. We could sticky a thread for each state inside the sub-forum or to something of that nature. It would make it easier to meet up with guys from your area or see what's going on outside of your state.

We already have region-specific subforums. They're hidden way down at the bottom of the main page, so nobody sees them and nobody uses them.

All that's needed to make them useful is for people to use them.

It might be possible to move them to make them more visible.
The regional sections used to get a lot more use than they do now.

It looks like meet and greet type threads have been left in the General section while wheeling meet ups were moved to the Offroading section where they belong.

A while back the board went through a big re-organization due to complaints of too many sections with little use, which was true. The regional sections are perfect for setting up local/regional gatherings. If we could get people to use them we wouldn't need another section to add to the list.

I agree - maybe if they were consolidated into a "meets" forum and then regional subforums and moved higher up the page?

Thanks for pointing that out. I actually never knew that they were there all the way at the bottom. Now I just feel like a noob but oh well :doh: .
