I am asking if this looks ok becuase I am not getting that great of gas mileage. I have remote start and sometimes it doesn't fire on the first try because of the cold. I wondered if this could foul a plug? These plugs are only 10 months old with about 12K on them. I have about 65K on it with a 60K service done about 5 months ago. Or if you have any other ideas as to why..I mean I am getting like 13mpg in the city. This plug just seemed to havea bit more carbon than it should and it releey smells like gas more than usual. Thanks....B

Looks ok to me. The color seems correct. How far is your usual trips ie. to work or your daily commute? The shorter the trips, the less the engine gets up to temp for extended time and carbon builds up more than one driven for longer periods of time. Check out this site

That plug looks to be in excellent condition, unless like koz stated, if those electrodes come that way with the semi-circular shape?

Edit: I meant the two grounds, but after a second look they must come that way. The electrode pic is not clear enough to see the exact shape of the top surface. Is that rounded?
I do not like the hype of more than one ground. With 10,000 to 40,000 volts of lightening coming thru there, it will find the ground no matter what. The extra grounds seem very redundant to me.

Yeah, that is how they come. I just used these because there is a big fat sticker right on the motor and it says to use 2 ground sparkplugs.These are the OEM's that NGK has for it at O'reillys. I just wanted to see the color. I am no expert, that is why I love this forum. How do you know if you have a fouled plug or can you see it?
I personally would change the air filter, clean the MAF, and if that doesn't do it, change the primary 02 sensors on your car. Chances are, the 02 sensors are starting to degrade and react slower causing the car to run running richer than it needs to and using a lot of fuel
