Canadian 4runners look good!

Similar to the Trail in the states it has minimal chrome, tapered bumpers, black trim (excluding front grill and bumpers), and to me looks slightly more proportionate and rugged. I really like what Harper did to his rig. Part Trail, part Limited came together nice. If only it came in one affordable SR5 4x4 package like it does in Moose country. I'm getting SR5 wheels for my 2010 Silver Trail, and might even get color-keyed handles and side mirrors to make the Trail look less plasticky (see last pic)

It comes with the price here is Canada, not sure how affordable it is - our SR5 costs about the same as LE in US. But off course Toyota saved us trouble to black out the chrome on SR5 and look for the running boards.

Ouch, but like you said saved you lots of trouble on the chrome. Just too much bling on the thing IMO. I'd be interested to know if yall get a diesel option as well. That would be killer. Always wanted a diesel Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, but the only US option is the pricey Lexus GX470.

Seriously though, that gray Canadian T4R pictured in front of that old warehouse at the top of this thread was the inspiration for purchasing my Trail. If I recall correctly that pic was featured in a story of a Canadian couple who tested it for a week or so in some pretty hostile winter conditions. I was impressed with their review. But I remember being disappointed by the dealer at the time because they still were not making factory running boards available for US buyers.

While I don't need to buy a vehicle (I'm fortunate to get something new every week or so), a 2012 LE may be in my future, in which case I'd document the whole process, following it from buying at dealer, ordering process, to factory assembly in Japan (going there), shipping and delivery - though forum members might be the only ones interested in reading it .....

you can buy those in canada from ENS industrial toyota in saskatchewan.

they are brand new 70 series land cruisers in multiple configurations

only problem is you cant insure them since they are not driveable on highway.

Truly was a great review dekeman! We don't get much snow down here, but your thorough review on the 5th Gen got me seriously looking at Trail Editions. In fact, it just arrived in my driveway today! Thanks again and nice pics :thumb3:

BTW, I noticed that you we're able to fold the second row seat (6th week, 2nd and 5th pictures). I have SR5 Upgrade Package with 3rd row seat, it seems that I can't do that.

Pretty sure the middle row seats on your SR5 (with third row) will fold, as they're the same 40/20/40 seats. I know they recline and slide fore and aft.

Are you sure there's no tab to pull, to lift the seat bottom up and forward first?

Are you having trouble folding the 2nd or 3rd row seats? The SR5 I looked at had 3rd row seats and folded flat into the floor. The 2nd row seats folds flat but you have to fold the headrest in first. The 2nd row also slides forward and back so you have to push it back flush with the folded 3rd row to prevent a gap.

I can fold the 2nd row flat but not as shown below...
