Canadian Import, what is the difference?

Hey guys,

My '03 4Runner is a imported by Canadian distributor. What is the difference between the one imported by US distributor?

The one i know is Canadian only have 4x4s and thats why they dont have it mentioned on the badge.

If the car was meant for Canada it would be considered a "gray market" vehicle. There may be a bit of a problem with the warranty.

Warranty is valid in US

I called up both Toyota of USA and Toyota of Canada. The good news is Toyota warrantis are good in all of North America. So I dont have to worry about this. What a relief.

emission controls are approximate to California's (=a bit less power)

If you are looking for a V8 they do not come with a weight distribution hitch as standard in Canada - tow limit is 5000 lb unless you add the WD hitch aftermarket. The V8 does come with transmission cooler as standard however. (I only just realised there was a difference when another thread here started talking about 7000lb tow capacity on the V8s and I realised I was missing out on something!)

Not planning on towing

I am not planning on towing anything more than 5K. So i dont think its a big problem.
