Canadian Running Boards Defect

I notice on my 2010 limited with canadian running boards that the black anti-slip dots were starting to fall out.

I contacted my dealer here in Vancouver and they said that they are port installed running boards (not from the factory) and that they don't know where to get parts for them.

Has anyone else had the same problem with their running boards?

I would explain "bumper to bumper" had better mean what it says. I'd also give Toyota Canada a call and explain nicely that a dealer doesn't seem to want to fix things.

This being said, 3M traction tape is probably better anyways.

does the TE have different running boards? I'm not sure what black dots you are talking about?

Please do tell us which Vancouver Dealer ... so we can boycott it.

TE and SR5 have the same running board; Limited has the chrome, narrow one.

Here is a picture of the running boards:

Its those black dots that have started to fall out. I know that it will be covered by warranty. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem and if they had a solution like a part #.

The dealer has been good to deal with so far, but if things change let the boycott began. :AK47:

I'm having the exact same problem. It's quite annoying. That and the fact that the running boards are suuuuuuper slippery when it is wet.

ahhh OK. those look nothing like my running boards. The ones on my TE provide good grip when wet....

In case you want to share with your stealer, I "think" this company makes "all" the running boards for the 5th Gen, even the Canadian version.

Cord Automotive International Inc
(714) 695-9868
5180 E Hunter Ave
Anaheim, CA 92807

Good luck and be Safe.

I'm not too far from there. I'm in 92805 til september, but unfortunately I don't have running boards.

Good news I got the Anti slip dots for the running boards. The dealer tracked them down and called me within a a couple of business days. It was all covered by warranty and they gave me some extras just incase more fall out. Thanks to everyone that helped me out.

What do the "anti-slip" dots look like? (For those annoyed with slippery boards.)

There the black dots on the running boards pictured above.

Don't be fooled though, the black dots make it like a skating rink rather then water slide when your standing on them. They look good but traction is not key on the these boards.
