Canoe Tie Down in Front?

I have a couple of canoe missions coming up, and would like to tie the front of the canoe down in the front, but right now I cannot do much with the grill in place.

I always strap it down on top with two tie-downs as well.

Does anyone have a bracket type solution for the front other than a bull bar?

What is the cheapest bull bar for these trucks?

Has anyone had any issues tying down a canoe to the standard rack? Mine slipped around a lot on the last trip.

get a kids pool noodle and that will help with the slipping. Cut it to length and then wrap it around your roof rack.

In the front at the bottom under the car is two big metal bars with a O opening at the end. On the passenger side right next to the eye opening is a big hook. I tie off the front end of the canoe on the O penings or the big hook. I then lash the sides of the canoe to the top. After I lash it down with my Boy Scout lashes, I don't think it would ever come off.

I did it buy using nylon tie downs across the top of the canoe and to the roof rack and then wrapping them around the racks on each side and tieing them off. The i did one to the tow hitch on the back and out one more through the two front doors and over the top and tied off. Worked for me. Had virtually no movement whatsoever at 50 MPH.
