Cant figure out this sound.

We had a nice day yesterday so I was cruising with the windows down. I heard something that sounded just like a rock stuck in my tire. It was a rythmic ticking sound every time the tire rotated, in the same spot everytime. I slowed down, and when it rotates to that spot its more like a hiss/tick sound. It almost sounds like a jet of air. I know this is not what it is, but I am just trying to let you know what it most closely sounds like. Anybody have any ideas?

Brakes. Try depressing the brakes when you hear it, even a little tug on the parking break. Noise goes away, it's brakes, not a big deal. Probably have sand or small rock something in there.
