I am having a very hard time finding a 2nd or 3rd gen runner with low enough miles to be worth lifting and wheeling. I am in the Knoxville, Tn. if anyone knows on one that has low miles and is a 5speed auto is fine for the right price.

Not in the area but I can tell you that a lot of us have purchased our 3rd gens with 150k plus miles and lifted and wheeled them. I bought mine July 08 with 153k miles lifted it and wheeling it hard the past three years and now have over 235k. Just took it on a 1000 mile trip no issues. Hope this helps ease the thought of higher mileage and if I see anything while browsing ads I will let you know.

Might help if you post what you feel mileage should be under and price range.

thank you so much i fell a little batter about it now.

i am taking to my parents about it and if i can get a more steady job its a go. i will be driving it around for a while any way with out doing any thing major. i just need something more reliable than a 20year old truck with 280K

3rd gens are more reliable than 2nd gens, Maintanence history is more important than miles up too around 200k miles, i would reccomend you look for a truck between 125-175k miles, with the 5 speed manual, as manuals are more reliable, cheaper and as a kid a much better transmission to have vs. an automatic.

Take care of a 90k mi 3rd gen and it will serve you faithfully for years. If you plan on really wheeling it hard....like rock crawling, you might want to find something cheaper. I've seen several wih 160k miles for $7k to 8k. It all depends on what you're planning on doing with it.

I am in knox and maryville as well. I saw one recently somewhere, I will be driving alot today and this weekend, if I spot it I will post here.

if you see me i drive a little white truck covered in stickers. also i plan on wheeling alot and using it as me weekend driver till my truck dies
