Can't open rear door

About 3 days ago it became impossible to open my rear door. I can squeeze as hard as I can, and it won't budge.

It is unlocked and still nothing. Anybody have any idea how to get it open?

And if so, does anybody know how to tighten the cord so you don't have to pull so hard to open it?

last summer i had a problem similar. it only happened on warm days. the latch just would not release. i greased the latch, and the handle, and that took care of the problem. try it when it is cool out. hopefully it will work.

WD-40 seems to work well, I didn't tighten any bolts or anything.
