OK , so im thinking about this one time i was reading a post, i tried searching for it here and on yotatech. since i didnt find it i was guessing i found it on some random website.

however i remember it going something like this: under the hood where the accelerator cable links to the switch thing that opens the butterfly valve, you can somehow tighten the nuts on the wire to get more pedal responsiveness.
was this true? i donno if i explained it right.

Yeah you're talking about tightening the throttle cable and transmission kick down cable. It makes a noticeable difference when you pull the slack out. It should add about 5 HP :jk: I'll try to find the post for you but it's really simple. Just follow the cables to the throttle body and you'll see the adjustment nuts.

Here's one

yeaaa thats it, thanks, im about to do this. any tips?

No tips, you should have no problem with it. I did max out the tightening adjustment on mine though, I had a good amount of slack

basically, just take 2 wrenches..tighten by going opposite ways..until all slack is gone..but not too tight, and then i basically have a ferrari?

It wont add HP. All it will do is bring it back to proper adjustment. There is supposed to be a little slack left in the cable when you are finished. Do not take all slack out of the cable. This will help it be more responsive and allow it to go to WOT and the transmission to downshift properly under hard acceleration.

Did it ltwo nites ago when i was bleeding the brakes. Simple task. I to took about 5 min and did all three cables.

ok the weather down here is so freakin nice!!!! we have crazy weather here in GA, not this friday but the friday b4 that we had 4 inches of snow, icy rain and super cold weather for the past week, then today its 65* outside! so i went out and did this real quick, just a couple questions, ..i left very little to almost no slack in the cables, how will i know that the butterfly valve isn't open for the slightest bit, im scared i went too far, but how do i test to see if the valve is compeltely closed, or if i over-tightened and the valve is open a crack.

im about to head home from work so i really get to see how much a difference it made.
