Cant remove fingerprints on interior trim

So I just picked up my 2011 yesterday, so far it's great. except...

I was cleaning up the truck a little and noticed what appeared to be smudges all over the silver painted panel around the temp control knob. I thought they were just from dealer prep, or people in the car while it was on the lot, so i attacked it with a wet rag. smudges reappeared. attack with simple green. smudges reappear. attack with goo gone. smudges reappear. The smudges/fingerprints are smooth with the paint and have no texture to them, so I thought they would wipe right off. It looks like arse. At this point I'll take it back to the dealer when they're open to have them order a new piece or try to get it out. Just wondered if anyone has seen this on their truck?

Take it to the dealer asap, so they have it on record from new. I'd insist on a new piece, and I'd not tell them all the 'experimenting' you've done either.

Wierd, looks like your truck was on an episode of CSI. Might want to blacklight the interior and see what you find.

hahah yeah for real. it definitely is finger prints, and some other smudges. Someone touched it too soon after paint? who knows, just sucks i have to drag butt back to the dealer.

Stop whinning.....you get to drive the truck, for a reason!

Hey Kingpin, you wanna help this guy out with his speling, eh?

What's worse- the word "whine" or "loose" (as in " I am looking to loose all the chrome accents...")

We should start a thread called " Loose the wineing". :police:

OMG!! Don't start me on Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar. If I were an HR Manager, I'd likely throw away 85% of all applications.

What goes through my head is how are some people who S/P/G as they do, able to afford a new 4R?

And, finally, there's always "break" for "brake".

Next?

Yep, the break for brake always gets me.

Not quite along the same lines, but I love the saying " I could care less".

Really, you COULD care less? So, that means you care. The proper saying is "I COULDN'T care less".

OK back to the topic grammarians! :police:

I used some Meguiar's swirl remover 2.0 polish. It seems to have done the trick with the embedded smudge marks and fingerprints on the panel, but time will tell.
