Can't Remove Running Boards - Fender Falling Off.

Hey all,

I was wanting to remove my running boards, but upon getting it loose, realized the whole fender was coming off with it. Those two bolts at the bottom of the fender are just gone, and essentially the running board is the only thing holding the fender down.

What are my options? Self tapping screws? Drill them out and put bigger ones? As an aside, should I consider leaving the running boards on, half the bolts just snapped in half, so if anyone knows the bolt spec that would be great. I'm assuming M8x1.25 but am not sure.

Why are you taking them off? If it's that rusty then they can only help to protect whatever is deteriorating. Put them back and spray everything with oil.

I like the look without them, but realistically with the amount of rust there is I should probably just re-attach them... Any idea to the bolt size?
